The Inverclyde Globetrotters, a few of whom are 80 years young, met again today at Inverclyde Leisure's Waterfront Gym as part  of the Live Exercise Exercise Referral Scheme.

This week they clocked up 642 miles. An excellent week.

It's almost 9 years to the day since the group set off to walk round the world with nothing but a £3.99 map of the world and a box of pedometers kindly donated by the cardiac rehabilitation team at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

Today the group walked (smashed!) through the 400 MILLION steps mark and with that clocked up more than 170,000 miles on their virtual travels around the world which have taken them to over 100 countries around the globe and all without ever leaving Greenock.

They are currently walking across the Atlantic Ocean, not for the first time, because you can do that in our wonderful world of virtual walking. Their goal is Rio which they intend to reach before the end of the Inverclyde Million Miles Challenge in June 2017.
